I just saw this on Moldy Chum and couldn't resist posting. This is definitely the most common phrase coming out of my mouth on the river. You can buy one here.
BTW, like 30 inches of powder this week. Thanks god it's finally snowing.
I headed out in the backcountry on Thursday and the skiing was great. Super sketchy avy conditions, but I'm a pretty mediocre skier so I stuck to the low-angled powder. Thursdays are now backcountry day, in preparation for a yurt trip in March in the Sawtooths.
Monday was my first day of 2010 on the river and it was so nice to be in the water. It was really warm considering it's January, but there still weren't many midges. The fish were eating, but it wasn't a bonanza by any standards. We're having a bad winter up here so pray for snow...for the skiing, and the fish!
The latest and greatest, Blood Knot Magazine, can be found here. You can find my latest article, The Professional Tablescaper, under Bitch Creek. Check it.
It's that time of year to find something for your fishing friend who has everything! I'm cranking out tote bags and notecards for sale on Etsy. I have a few different totes listed and will get notecards up as soon as I can get some good photos of them.
Went out yesterday to procure the Christmas tree. It turns out it's insanely crooked, but it i snow lighted and decorated in preparation for the Christmas party tonight. You may notice the glacier glasses and ice ax--they were only for effect.
